Job Summary:
The Air Ticketing Executive is responsible for handling all aspects of air travel arrangements for customers. This includes flight booking, ticket issuance, fare calculation, itinerary planning, cancellations, rescheduling, and providing exceptional customer service. The role requires excellent knowledge of global distribution systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Flight Bookings & Ticketing
Book domestic and international flight tickets for individual and corporate clients.
Issue, reissue, and cancel tickets as per airline policies.
Process refunds, exchanges, and changes in travel itineraries.
Customer Service
Provide professional assistance to clients regarding flight schedules, seat availability, fares, and travel regulations.
Handle customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through prompt and accurate service.
Fare Management & Documentation
Calculate fares, taxes, and ensure the correct application of airline and IATA rules.
Prepare itineraries, invoices, and travel vouchers accurately.
Maintain records of bookings, payments, and ticket information.
Coordination & Liaison
Coordinate with airlines, travel partners, and other departments for smooth operations.
Inform passengers about visa requirements, travel insurance, and baggage policies.
Ensure timely follow-up with clients for confirmations and payments.
Administrative & Reporting
Maintain updated databases for clients and flight schedules.
Generate daily/weekly/monthly sales reports for management.
Assist in developing promotional travel offers when required.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of airline reservation systems (Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving ability.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Good computer literacy (MS Office, email, online portals).
Familiarity with IATA/airline fare rules and travel regulations.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Travel & Tourism, Aviation, or Hospitality Management (preferred).
Diploma or certification in Air Ticketing / GDS / IATA from a recognized institute.
Experience:
0–3 years for entry-level positions.
3–5 years for senior or corporate ticketing executive roles.
Work Environment:
Office-based role, occasionally requiring extended hours during peak seasons.
Interaction with clients, travel agents, and airline representatives.
